F.R.I.E.N.D.S

As humans we are automatically programmed to think that one may need others in order to survive and be happy.
We grow up with quotes such as "no man is an island" which basically instills the concept of 'Ubuntu' in every individual. This is why we form relationships as we go on in life, so that we don't feel a sense of loneliness.
We make friends who care for us and who we care for as well, but as time goes on, we should be able to distinguish between people we care about and people who care about us.

We may feel that people are always present in our lives because we are always there for them, we post them, we take them out and simply have fun with them. These are the slide perks or responsibilities rather of having a friendship or a relationship.
This is what I would call a "casual friendship " because the relationship you have with these kinds of people is usually one sided. They are the type of people that will follow you, like three of your posts as a 'favour' but most importantly forget you when you least expect it.
You could post a sad status update or maybe even one which will be a sign of depression and suicidal thoughts... yet they would skip your update like the first slice in a loaf of bread.

All I can say is that no one needs such people in their lives, all they know is taking but they never give. They are toxic, and in order for you to feel much better about yourself you don't have to stoop to their level.
Just cut them off for your peace of mind... you really do not need that kind of drama in your life.
Life is too short to be sad. But like most things, it is easier said than done.

Friendships are not supposed to feel like an obligation!
